Abu Dhabi has hosted the opening race of the global World Triathlon Championship Series since 2015. This prestigious event series  offers a jam-packed weekend of sport - watch the world's best go head-to-head as they chase Olympic and Paralympic qualifying points; race on the same course as your heroes in our triathlon, running and cycling races; and enjoy family-friendly fun in the race village. The World Triathlon Championships Series Abu Dhabi is powered by TAQA and organized by Abu Dhabi Sports Council.

Update on 2024 World Triathlon Championship Series Abu Dhabi

Whilst we are disappointed that the World Triathlon races could not go ahead on 8 - 9 March 2024 as scheduled due to the projected extreme weather, we are pleased to announce the age group races will be rescheduled to special World Triathlon Abu Dhabi Age Group Races to be staged on 3 - 4 May 2024 at Yas Marina Circuit, with races being held in the cooler evening hours. The full race schedule will be posted shortly.

All registered participants of the 2024 World Triathlon Championship Series Abu Dhabi powered by TAQA will be contacted directly which the choice of either defering their entry into the Age Group Races on 3-4 May, or applying for a full refund.
